Obama needs to bring North Korea to account for the incident with the South Korean corvette

North Korea should be held accountable for the incident with the South Korean corvette Cheonan. This opinion was expressed by U.S. president Barack Obama during the G-20 summit in Toronto.

He noted that "must be made findings of such irresponsible behavior", reports Associated Press.

The head of the White House said that Washington "stands for South Korea."

Recall that an international commission of experts investigating the circumstances of the death of South Korean corvette, came to the conclusion that the ship was torpedoed North Korean production. But Pyongyang has consistently denied all the accusations made against him. Moreover DPRK authorities informed that the contributing countries are ready to respond if the Security Council the UN will not stop accusing Pyongyang in the incident. North Korea's ambassador to the UN Sin Son Ho noted that "the situation is critical and the war could start at any moment." He also said that Seoul and Washington fabricated charges against North Korea and demanded that the place of sinking the ship allowed experts from Pyongyang that's withheld from South Korea.

Recall that in late March 2010 corvette sank a South Korean Cheonan killing 46 sailors in the country. According to the international expert committee, the ship was sunk by North Korean torpedo. The incident led to rising tensions between Pyongyang and Seoul.
