Russian airline allowed to operate charter flights to Georgia


Unified transport authority of the Ministry of Regional Development and the infrastructure of Georgia gave Russian airline S7 (Siberia) approval for direct flights between Russia and Georgia.
As RIA Novosti reported with reference to the press service of unified transport administration, the resolution applies only to charter flights.
"We received an official letter of permission to fly, but the letter did not have data on flight schedules. We are writing to give permission, but this applies only to charter flights. At this stage we are waiting for a letter to flight schedules, which will continue negotiated, and then granted ", - reported the press service.
Note that currently the only company exercising Direct charter flights between the countries, Georgia is a private airline Airzena - Georgian Airways. She received permission to carry out 12 flights before July 1.
As is known, direct flights between Russia and Georgia were canceled in 2006 after tensions between the two countries for some time been restored in 2008 and then again lifted after the August conflict in 2008.
