The Parliament of Kazakhstan Nazarbaev has given the status of the leader of the nation
The upper house of Kazakhstan's Parliament (Senate) adopted amendments to the constitutional laws, giving President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the status of the leader of the nation.
As reported May 12, the lower chamber of Kazakh parliament agreed with the assignment of Nazarbayev's new stature.
Amendments to relevant laws stipulate that the leader of a nation can not be subject to arrest, detention or personal check, subject to criminal or administrative liability for acts committed during his period in office of President.
This encroachment on the life of the leader of the nation is invited to be classified as terrorist crimes, and for damage to the images of the first president, public insults and distortion of the facts of his biography will be criminalized.

The Act also provides for coordination with Nazarbayev all development initiatives in domestic and foreign policy.
Now, the amendments will be made to the signature of the president.
First Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev in July this year marks 70 years of age. His term of office expires in 2012. He ruled the country in 1990. In accordance with the Constitution of Kazakhstan's first president has the right to run for the post of head of state an unlimited number of times.
